Frequently Asked Questions

Good things to know before we begin.

A few of the questions I hear most often. If yours isn't here, a quick consultation is the best way to get it answered.

Do you offer in-person or remote therapy?

Both. I offer in-person therapy on Tuesdays and Thursdays at my office at 41 Union Square West, a short walk from the 14th St–Union Square station. I also offer remote (telehealth) therapy for clients anywhere in New York State.

What states are you licensed in? Can you see clients outside New York?

I'm licensed in New York State, so we can work together whenever you're physically located in New York at the time of our sessions.

What do you specialize in?

I specialize in relationship issues, anxiety, life transitions, career changes, perfectionism, and self-esteem. I often work with adults in their 20s and 30s, though I welcome clients of any age facing similar challenges.

What can I expect from the first session?

The first full session is mostly about getting to know you and what brought you in. We'll talk about what's been going on, some relevant history and context, and the goals that matter most to you. By the end, we'll start to shape a sense of direction and how we might work toward it together.

How often will we meet?

Most clients meet weekly, especially at the beginning of therapy. Frequency can be increased or reduced over time based on your needs, goals, and progress, something we'll decide together and revisit as we go.

What is your availability like?

I'm currently accepting new clients. In-person sessions are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and telehealth sessions offer more flexibility, including mornings and evenings, to accommodate busy schedules.

Do you accept insurance?

I see Aetna clients in-network through Headway. If you have Aetna, the easiest way to begin is to book with me directly through my Headway profile.

For all other insurance, I'm out-of-network. Many commercial plans reimburse a portion of out-of-network mental health care once your deductible has been met. The exact percentage varies by plan, so it's worth checking yours.

I use Thrizer as my payment platform. If you have out-of-network benefits, Thrizer can check them for you, estimate your real cost per session, handle payment, and submit eligible claims on your behalf. Some plans also let you pay a reduced upfront amount rather than paying in full and waiting for reimbursement.

Use the tool below to check your estimated out-of-network benefits and session cost.

How much does therapy cost?

My full fee is $300 per 50-minute session. If cost is a concern, I keep a limited number of reduced-fee spots. We can discuss your unique needs during the consultation call.

If you don't have insurance or aren't using it, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your care. For more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel. Sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time are charged in full.

How will I know if you're a good fit for me?

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation, where we can talk through your goals and what you're looking for, and get a feel for whether we're a good match.

Still have a question?

The easiest way to get it answered is a free 15-minute consultation.
